Board of Directors


The Board of Directors consists of eleven (11) members. Six (6) members are elected by the Partners’ General Assembly and five (5) by the General Assembly of the members of HePIS, of whom, three (3) are Professional members and two (2) are Associate members.

Mr. Nikolaos Faldamis, President

Aged 58. Married, has 2 children. B.Sc. in Economics, DEA from Aix-Marseille University in Business Research. Governor and Chairman of the General Maternity Hospital ‘Helena Venizelou’.
He has served as Chief Information Officer (CIO) of Olympic Airways, Consultant in Information Technology and Business Modernization in consulting firms and Expert Committee of the Regions of the European Commission.

In 1994 he became member of the Core Team of the Olympic Airways Group. From 1998 until 2002 he served as the Chief Information Officer responsible for the Strategic and Tactic planning of Informatics, Communication and RADIO Systems in Greece and Overseas. He was promoted to the position of Assistant General Manager of the Commercial and Finance department in 2003 and in 2005 he became Consultant for the privatization of Cargos.

In 1998 he became a member of IATA and in 2002 he was elected Vice President of the “Information Managements Committee of IATA.

Since 2005 he has been the expert consultant at the Greek Prefectural Self-Administration Union.

Member of the “Airlines Applications Systems Group” Committee of SITA.

Official evaluator of the EU for the “Applications Telematics Programme”

Member of the BoD of the Municipal Informatics Enterprise of Athens Municipality.

Prof. Panagiotis Georgiadis, General Secretary

Aged 65. Married, has 2 children. He holds a B.Sc. in Physics from the University of Athens, an M.Sc. in Computer Science from the University of Warwick and has completed his Ph.D. in Computer Science at the University of Athens. Professor at the Department of Informatics and Telecommunications of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens.

From 1997 until 2001 he was the General Secretary of Information Systems at the Ministry of Finance. The TAXISnet project has developed electronic services for web-based filling of VAT and income tax forms. TAXISnet has received an e-Europe Best Practice Award (2001).

For the period 2002-2004 he was the General Secretary of Public Administration and Electronic Government at the Ministry of Public Administration and Decentralization.

Chairman of the Operational Programme of “Information Society” (3rd C.S.F.). Responsible for the design and deployment of a new innovative project, named Citizen Service Center.

Has supervised 8 Ph.D. dissertations and has published more than 50 papers in international journals. Has participated in 7 European (ESPRIT, IST) programmes and 15 Research and Development National projects.

He is responsible for the e-Government Laboratory, a leading academic group of about 10 doctoral and post-doctoral researchers, that provides business planning and operations management know-how for e-services schemes within the

Greek public sector.

 


 

Mr. Nikolaos Kontekas, Cashier

Aged 58. Diploma from the Hellenic Military Academy in 1976. M.Sc. in Computer Science, Essex University UK. ICT Consultant.

Participated in the development of the Research and Informatics division of the Greek Army.

Director and Project Manager of System Administration, Control and Crisis Management Department at the Hellenic

Army General Staff.ICT Director at PEOPLECERT Group of Companies from 2006 until 2010.

National representative at the FINABEL organization, specializing in the development of Informatics systems.

Member in various Technical and Scientific Committees related
to the implementation of Informatics Systems in the Armed Forces.

Commander of the Research and Technology unit of the Army from 2002 until 2003, when he retired.

Brigadier General, teaching Informatics in the Hellenic Military Academy while cooperating both with the public and private sector since his retirement.

 


 
Mr. Sotirios Athanasiou, Member

Aged 52. Married, has one child. Degree in Physics, University of Ioannina, Greece. M.Sc. in Informatics Systems and e-Commerce, School of Mechanical Engineers, Technical University of Athens. Head of the department of Software Development at the Ministry of Economy and Finance, dealing with: strategic development, evaluation of projects of investment and design of technical specifications.

Software Engineer in the private and public sector. Coordinator of the 1st, 2ndand 3rd EU Framework for the Social Investment Programme.

Professor of Informatics at the Greek Navy, the Ministry of Economy and Finance, the Greek Mathematics Society and Hellenic Production Centre (ELKEPA) from 1982 until 1998.

Evaluator of various EU programmes such as RETEX, INTERREG, E-COMMERCE etc.

Member of the National Committee of Informatics, dealing mainly with the development of Informatics in Greece from 2002 until 2004.

Designer or the Strategic Plan for the Technological Completion and use of New Technologies at the Ministry of Economy and Finance.

President of the committee for the Business Plan as part of the participation of the Ministry of Economy and Finance in the “Information Society”.

 

Mrs Vassia Atsali, Member

Vassia Atsali holds a Technical Degree on Electronics from the Technological Educational Institute of Piraeus. She holds a degree in Informatics from the University Paris XI – Orsay, BSc (Honours) in Psychology from the Open University (of the UK) and a postgraduate degree in Teleinformatics from the University Paris VI – Pierre et Marie Curie. Business & Career Development Consultant.

Minister’s Special Adviser, followed-up Information Systems’ Implementation in the Greek NHS Hospitals (N.S.R.F - National Strategic Reference Framework for the Digital Convergence) from 01/12/09 until 07/09/10

Technical Services Manager at SCAN Information Systems, assessed the company’s needs and designed a new Organizational Chart from 12/01/09 – 6/11/09

Recruitment Lead for South-East Europe and Middle East at SAP, Led Recruitment activities in the region (165 new hires) and achieved recruiting targets from 01/03/07 – until 31/12/2008

Mr. Giannis Kanavas, Member

Aged 42, married and has 2 children. Mr. Constantinos Kesentes, Member

Aged 46. Married, has 3 children. Dip. Electrical Engineer. Group General Manager PEOPLECERT Group, ex-Vice President & Managing Director of LogicIN SA, ex-CEO, Knowledge S.A. He has more than 20 years of experience in senior management positions in the ICT and Personnel Certification sectors.

General Secretary of the Federation of Hellenic Information Technology & Communication Enterprises (S.E.P.E.) from 2001 until 2003.

Member of the Inmarsat-M JIT Committee from 1985 until 1987.

Member of the Hellenic Management Association (EEDE) since 1995.

Member of the Greek Technical Chamber since 1988.

Mr. Athanasios Papadimitriou, Member

Aged 42. Married. Holds a B.Sc. in Computer Systems (Honors), The American College of Greece, an MBA in Information Management from the University of Hull Kingston Upon Hull, UK, and a PhD in Strategic Management from the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. IT Manager of South East European Region at Marks and Spencer.

Mr. Michael Reppas, Member

Aged 47. Married with 2 children, has a B.Sc. in Military Studies from the Hellenic Cadets Academy (SSE), an M.Sc. in Advance Information Systems from University of Athens, a Dipl. in Management from CLC (UK), and a Ph.D. Cand. in Computer Science. Owner and General Manager of Novelties Ltd.

In 1985 he became a Tactical Officer in Mechanized Artillery and «HAWK» Units. In 1991 he joined the Hellenic Army and in 1994 he was promoted as the Head of UNIX Department and Database Administrator in CY-830, CY-930. In 1997 he became the Head of Department and a Project Manager for large scale applications at the Hellenic First Army/ Department of Researchof Research & Informatics.

For the period 1999-2003 he joined the Hellenic War Game & Simulation Center where he was Headwas Head of Technical Section and deputy Deputy directorDirector, Project Manager in War Game & Simulation projects, Head of HNDGS / C4ISR project, Project Manager for SE European Simulation Network, Member of the board for C4I system in ATHENS 2004.

In 2004, he was employed by the Hellenic Ministry of Defense. He was the Minister’s Sspecial Aadvisor in IT, and the Director of Informatics-Telecommunications and New Technologies.


Mr. Filippos Frantzolas, Member

Aged 58, Married, has 4 children. He holds a Master of Science in Information Technology and Computer Communications, Middlesex University in London. Since 2007 he works as a presales consultant, solution integrator, implementation engineer and project manager for IT and Security related projects at Siemens Enterprise Communications S.A. in Athens.

For the period 1982 – 1999 he was IT manager for Costa Perla Hotels S.A. and other associated companies.

In 2000 he became a Cisco Certified Professional and Instructor, Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer and Trainer at New Horizons S.A.

In 2002 he became a Certified instructor (MCT) at Compact S.A.

During the period of 2002 – 2006 he was a Lecturer on IT.

In 2002 and 2003 he worked for Siemens I.S. and he was responsible for Network & Email system upgrade projects and Network security design and implementation projects.

During the period 2002 – 2009 he was employed by Adacom S.A. as a Check Point Certified Trainer Certified instructor (CCSI) on Firewall and VPN related network security seminars.

In 2004 he held the position of Senior IT Consultant to the European Commission in Brussels.

During 2005-2007 he was a Senior IT Consultant to Siemens Integrated Services (SIS) S.A. in Athens.
