HePIS is the National Point of Contact of the European Centre for Women & Technology (ECWT) in Greece. Its mission is to represent the European Centre on gender related issues in the country. At HePIS, we firmly believe that encouraging more women to pursue a career in the ICT industry is not only a gender equality issue but an economic necessity.

ECWT is a European non-profit organization funded by the European Commission, several private businesses and local authorities.Formed under the initiative of the United Nations Global Women and Technology Initiative (GWT-I), ECWT is the European Regional Centre (one of 10 operating worldwide) for women and technology. It started its operations in July 2008, with its headquarters in Drammen, Norway.Its aim is to encourage women's participation in the ICT sector and ensure equal access in ICT.
