IT Operations & Support Engineer, in ASPIDER-NGI

ASPIDER-NGI is a leading International enabler for Mobile Virtual Network Operators with offices in Netherlands, France, Belgium, Malta and USA. It owns, develops and manages mobile core networks and a range of voice, data and content solutions. The growth in our international subscriber base has created vacancies in our Malta office in the operations speciality below. As an IT Operations Engineer you will interact frequently with customer support, specialist’s teams and 3rd party providers, therefore it is important that you are clear and concise in your communication. Working closely with diverse teams you will need to develop a good all-round understanding of systems, services and networks as well as the telecoms industry. Diligence and attention to detail are also key skills along with the ability to multi-task and prioritize work appropriately. The candidates chosen will join a dynamic and professional international team already established in Malta.

Key Responsibilities Daily Basis:

• Qualify the issues.

• Troubleshoot the alarms raised by our L1 monitoring team and the application errors.

• Manage the issue raised by our customers.

• Participate to the 24/7 on call rotation.

• Coordination with 3rd parties.

Required Skills and Qualifications: 

• A bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a computer-related field

• Linux, Java and SQL

• Windows knowledge is a plus

• Ability to troubleshoot and qualify issue quickly, even in domain outside of field of competence

• Ability to anticipate and build contingency plans

• Experience in implementing operational automation using shell / SQL scripts

• Good organisation. The engineer should be able to execute his task in independence, and refer to management when needed

• Ability to work under pressure and keep calm in situation, with crucial deadlines

• Ability to work in a fast paced, entrepreneurial multicultural environment, on multiple projects concurrently

• Excellent English writing skills
